Music is the expression of the divine, and you’ll hear plenty of it here at West End Church!

Our community is fortunate to experience awe-inspiring music as a weekly occurrence during our Sunday Worship services. With a sanctuary choir of talented volunteers anchored by professional soloists, we can always count on being uplifted by beautiful song. Our service also features traditional hymn-singing as a way to bridge generations–so you’re sure to hear a few favorites even as we also learn new tunes from many cultures and folkways.

We’re also very happy to host the vibrant West End Community Chorus, an organization born out of the parents and faculty community of the Collegiate School. Rehearsing on Wednesday nights, this group tackles concert-length material for various skill levels and presents it each spring and fall. With a warm atmosphere and voluntary dues, the Community Chorus is a wonderful way to keep in touch with one’s musical side.

Our community counts many visual artists and makers as members! We are thoughtful about providing opportunities for our artists to get hands-on, from painting pageant backdrops to decorating the church for major holidays. And of course, we are happy to glean inspiration from all of New York’s rich cultural institutions by organizing group museum visits as part of our community programming.

We also have a large number of actors and playwrights in our community, and we enjoy organizing outings to new shows and supporting developing work. Join us!
