Advent & Christmas Worship
Each Sunday in Advent celebrates one of the four major Advent themes–Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Join our Adult Learning community at 10 am each Sunday to explore these themes from examples pulled from the Gospels.
First Sunday of Advent — November 30 @ 11am: Join us in our chapel for a special worship service in which we craft decorations to adorn our sanctuary, including a personal ornament to hang on our Christmas tree.
Blue Advent Services — December 3 & 10 @ 6pm: The holidays aren’t always jolly for those of us who are grieving, lonely, or struggling. Join us for two Wednesday evening services that hold the complexity of the season. (Preregistration required–email Pastor Will.)
Second Sunday of Advent — December 7 @ 11am: Enjoy a festive Christmas-themed Jazz Brunch communion service in our chapel, where we get to gather around tables with friends old and new.
Third Sunday of Advent — December 14 @ 11am: Celebrate Joy by contributing a special Christmas wish or message of thanksgiving for our tree.
Fourth Sunday in Advent — Christmas Pageant — December 21 @ 11am: Cheer on our kids as they tell us the Christmas story…reminding us that Jesus came just as He was: tiny, wonderful, and bright-eyed. (Want your child to join? Email Matt Puckett to sign up!)
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service — December 24 @ 5pm: Join a full orchestra and chorus in welcoming the Light of the World into our sanctuary during a candlelit service. (Musical prelude begins @4:30pm.)
Service of Lessons and Carols — December 28 @ 11am: Join us in the sanctuary as we come together for a special lay-led pajama “Lessons and Carols” service…or tune in via Zoom as you visit loved ones for the holidays!
Festive Gatherings
Get into the Christmas spirit with events that evoke homey comfort and joy!
Sanctuary Decorating Party — December 5 @ 6pm: It’s garland-hanging time! Come together for a potluck dinner and be part of the merry team that transforms our sanctuary into a thing of beauty for the holidays.
“The Many Moods of Christmas” — December 11 @ 7:30pm: The West End Community Chorus presents an evening of beautiful Christmas carols and sacred music. Join us to celebrate their accomplishment with light drinks and appetizers afterwards!
All-Committee Christmas Dinner — December 15 @ 6:30 pm: All members of our six standing committees (Community & Fellowship, Discernment, Human Resources, Membership, Stewardship & Care, Property Management, and Worship) are warmly invited to a holiday meal to thank them for their service to our community.
Carol Sing & Christmas Party— December 17 @ 6:30pm: Bring a favorite baked goodie to share and join us for an evening of holiday treats and carol-singing around the piano.
Santa’s Little Helpers Party — December 21 @ 1–4pm: Sometimes Santa has some last minute errands to run! Park the kiddos at church for some cookie decorating, holiday games, and a festive movie while you get cookies and milk and whatever else Santa may need to be ready for Christmas Day.

Join us as we share our many blessings with those in need.
Holiday Hope Bag Assembly — December 14 @ 12pm: Help us pack the Holiday Hope bags that we hand out to our Tuesday Table friends as part of their annual Christmas Party.
Tuesday Table Christmas Dinner — December 23 @ 4pm: It’s time to treat our Tuesday Table guests to a Christmas meal! Extra hands are always needed to clasp a hand or two in holiday well-wishing.
